I'm Sorry I'm So Boring

I miss this blog but lately I haven't really had much desire to write anything. My mind is constantly on the move but right now, I feel like I have nothing interesting to say. I have a list of topics I want to write about but when it comes down to it, I'm just too damn lazy to type. To take pictures. I just want to read and be entertained.

I'm so tired at the end of the day that if it's my night to cook dinner (thank the Lord my husband shares this chore with me) I am not trying anything new, I am doing the fastest easiest thing I already know how to do. So no new recipes are happening at our house. And sometimes I really wish my hubby was ok with a box of kraft dinner or something but he needs so. much. food. He is a real meat and potatoes kind of guy plus he has a very physical job so dinner is big for him. I could have a bowl of shreddies and go to sleep happy.

I'm kind of bored of TV. I finished binge-watching Friends on Netflix and now I'm not really loving anything on Netflix or even on actual TV. I want to watch a mindless comedy that makes me laugh... I hate that the Mindy show is already on summer hiatus. Big Brother Canada is on 3 times a week but I'm still getting into it and don't have a solid pick yet. Plus some of the effects they added this season are supremely annoying - and if the producers are reading this right now - I am talking about the hand crack to show nominations. Stupid.

I leave this coming Saturday for a conference in Southampton, UK and unlike previous companies I actually arrive two days before it starts so I won't be a zombie. And then I fly home on Friday at 11:30am and arrive at 2:30pm so will get to enjoy (read: sleep and recover from jetlag) the weekend. I have no clue what to pack for this conference, wealso have a uniform of 'black bottoms and corporate shirt'. The corporate button down shirts will be distributed when we get there I'm not sure my signature black leggings will work with it. Tonight should be fun times raiding my closet.

Anyone know of anything fun to do in Southampton?

My girlfriend had a baby last night! It's a book club baby and we have all been on pins and needles for two reasons:

1) she was supposed to be induced last Thursday and after getting bumped a couple times was finally admitted but no medicine would work so she ended up with a c-section last night. The hospital was understaffed and it sounded like a nightmare.

2) we had no idea what she was having!!!

It's a boy and mom and baby are happy and healthy.

My sister and nephews are visiting my mom for a few days and last night we took Milo out for a walk by the water. It was awesome spring weather and so fun to see the boys, they are growing up so fast! In my head the baby is still more of a baby but no, he starts kindergarten in September.

And there you have it, some random thoughts from Sarah today. I'm sorry I'm so boring.

Oh and of course - the obligatory cute photo:

#Blogtober14 | Netflix Expert

I think I am an expert at many things… sleeping in, drinking wine, spending too much time on my phone, taking too many photos of Milo, annoying my husband, just to name a few… but I am really an expert at Netflix Bingeing.  I have written about my addiction to Netflix.

And then yesterday I discover this thing called the Netflix Stream Team.  As in people on a team who watch Netflix.  Um what?  A match made in Heaven?  It most certainly is.

I would rock the Stream Team.

Netflix, this is why you need to make me part of your #StreamTeam:

1.       I can watch Netflix anywhere.  I have it on my phone, on my iPad, on Xbox in our living room and on Apple TV in our bedroom.

2.       I watch Netflix everywhere. When I’m cooking dinner or doing anything in the kitchen, when I’m taking a bath (TMI? #sorryimnotsorry), getting ready in the morning, waiting for a friend to meet me for a drink - my headphones are out and I am connected.

Seriously – check the activity on my account! I know you can.

3.       I watch all genres of movies and shows… depending on my mood I watch dramas, chick flicks, teenage content… all of it.  No judging.

4.       Benefits to my marriage.  More time in the kitchen means more cooking and baking for my husband which makes him all sorts of happy.  Things could only get better.

5.       I really want it.  I can write (see, I even have this blog), my eyesight is great (the only glasses I wear protect my eyes from the sun!) and I am an awesome team player.  I really really really want to be a #NetflixStreamTeam member.

I tweeted Netflix yesterday but no response.  I am not giving up.

Netflix Bingeing

I am fully aware that I have an addictive personality.  I am obsessed with Buddy Burgers (mini cheeseburgers), can't go more than 30 minutes without applying lip gloss and am a complete weekend alcoholic social drinker, but my Netflix addiction might be the worst one yet. I even bought a speaker so that I can have my iPad on while in the shower.  I know, I have major issues.

I wake up and as soon as the news headlines are over, I flip on my latest show and watch while I put my face on and then it's on in the background while I'm feeding the fur babies (and fish), packing up lunch and making my smoothie. While cooking dinner, taking a bath or shower, even when I'm working in the garden I am being entertained. And I'm probably jinxing myself here but I am kind of shocked that my old iPad 2 is still kicking!

What do I like to watch? Complete TV shows. As in it has ended and Netflix has all seasons including the series finale. I hate having to wait for seasons to show up.

The first show I watched I had never even seen on TV and this is what got me hooked (thanks B! ;)

Friday Night Lights... pretty sure I would have loved to be a cheerleader with a football star boyfriend but I'm secretly scared I would have been a wallflower.  This is also when I got a girl crush on Connie Britton.

Orange is the New Black... I got through the first season in one weekend and was thrilled when season 2 was finally released... I managed to hold off until Saturday, sped through the entire season... And then for some reason, about 30 minutes into the season finale, I turned it off.  And I still haven't finished it. Maybe I can't bear for it to end and knowing I still have something to go back to helps?

I am currently plowing through How I Met Your Mother. I watched this show with hubby but after a year or so he got bored of it and it sort of fell off my radar screen.  I heard rumblings about the series finale but didn't pay much attention so thankfully I don't really know happens.  Love me some Barney though.  And Robin.

On my to see list...
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Veronica Mars
  • House of Cards (started this one twice, never got past episode 1?!)
  • Breaking Bad
But I am going to need a new comedy/light hearted show pretty soon here - what do you suggest?
