- Plan, plan, plan. Map out your first month's worth of posts.
- Write as much as you can on the weekends.
- Learn to use your DSLR. Or win the lottery and buy the new iPhone 6 because the camera is supposed to be amazing.
- Use social media. Schedule tweets if needed but figure it out.
- Recipe posts are awesome... make a list of recipes you want to make and then remember to take photos when you actually make it!
- Set an advertising budget and stick to it.
- SEO. Learn it and live by it.
- Wine helps your creativity.
- Download all the free fronts you can and use them to make graphically appealing images.
- I was just given this piece of advice last week and I think it's the most important on above all else - remember that you are writing for YOU, not anyone else. This is your space and needs to be your voice.
Sunday | Peanut Butter Sandwiches: seriously. Neither of us were really hungry and sometimes you want something simple... I had PB and he had PB and J.
Monday | Chili: we have one more dinner left in the fridge from my crockpot chili (get the recipe here).
Tuesday | Fish Tacos: we will bake tempura battered tilapia and serve it with coleslaw and salsa in soft taco shells. My hubby will cover his with cilantro and I will gag inwardly and refuse to let it touch my plate.
Wednesday | Chicken pot pies: can I hear it for freezer meals?? Get this tasty recipe here.
Thursday | BLT sandwiches with salad: Hubby has been craving these for a couple weeks and if it means he is in charge of dinner, I'm all for it.
Friday: we are going to our favourite schnitzel place!
What advice would you give an earlier self?
OK you got me there...I DO need to learn to use my DSLR better but I do have the iphone 6 and the camera is good! Not as good as the DSLR, though, gotta be honest.
ReplyDeleteLove your list AND your blog! :)
You know what I heard the other week that was really interesting to me? Since you are on Blogger and Google owns Blogger, you don't have to worry about SEO as much as someone not on Blogger does. I would still get in the habit of finding your keywords and making your images SEO-compliant, but you probably don't need to know all the ends and outs of SEO since you are on Blogger.
